I’ve always wanted to design a house of my own, even when I was still a student in architecture. I always wanted to design a house which is perfect for me. Zenia on the other always told me that she already visualized her dream house. She told me that she was more into minimalist design and that she wanted some plants or garden inside her house.
One morning while I was sketching some drawing I somehow got a stroke of inspiration on a design of a house. I suddenly visualized a house with pocket gardens inside it. I started sketching out the basic design of the house and As soon as I reached the office I made a model of it. Little did I know that my design also fits Zenia’s concept of her ideal house. I continued to develop the design and here are the results.

Cafe Begote May 25, 2008

There’s this new cafe at The North Atrium Mall in Mandaue City. We visited there just days after they had their grand opening. The cafe has a large area and they also have a function room for meetings or gathering. What’s sets this place apart from the other coffee shops in Cebu is their very own Karaoke machine where customers can sing to whenever they are too stoked with coffee.Cafe Begote, calssified as a bar/cafe/restaurant, have acoustic bands during the evening as well. The ambiance of the place is perfect for studying (do this in daytime), business meetings or just plainly hanging out.
We tried their coffee and its really quite good and the best part of it is the affordable price. The pastries were also tasty, Yaya was too excited to eat the mint bar I wasn’t able to take a picture of the un-eaten mint bar. Luckily for me I know a little about photo editing.*grin*
I have to apologize for the photos I posted. Since Yaya and I don’t have the money yet to buy one of those 8 mega pixel cameras, I just used my phone camera in taking these (yeah, we can afford a camera phone).

Andoks May 25, 2008

Yesterday Yaya wanted to eat outside, she couldn’t eat the food they had for lunch because of allergies. We decided to eat at our favorite place in times of crisis. We went to North Atrium, a mall near her place and ate at Andoks. This used to be a take out food stop, but recently they converted it to a fastfood restaurant. We regularly eat here because the food here is cheap, tasty and their servings are big. We usually spend half here compared to other restaurant and every time we eat here we always go out with our bellies bulging and our pants tight.
Their specialty is there Liempo, which is basically roasted pork belly. Its really tasty but I suggest you don’t eat this dish regularly since it is packed with fat and high cholesterol. One dish can serve two persons so we ordinarily order one.
Next is a little veggies to counter the cholesterol. We usually order the chopsuey, aside from the reason that Yaya loves it, they have no other vegetable dish in their menu. *grin*
I also ordered an additional spaghetti cause I felt my gluttonous mood kicking in. Another specialty of Andoks is there very famous roasted chicken. Its a little obvious from there logo. *smirk* We didn’t order chicken cause that was the food Yaya avoided at her house because of her allergies. hehehe
I would recommend this restaurant for people with a tight budget and big appetite. This wouldn’t be a perfect place for a date but it sure would be a perfect place to grab a bite. Another thing you would notice is the lack of diversity of the menu. In due time I think they’re going to introduce more dishes in their menu. After all they’re still new in the fast food industry so let’s just wait and see.

Research on my family tree May 25, 2008

Ever since I was still in high school I’ve always wondered about my ancestry. I could still vividly remember I used to ask my grandmother a lot of questions about her family and my grandfathers family. I never had a chance to meet my grandfather on my dad side. I was so enthusiastic on knowing my family tree that I asked everyone in my family about the history of my family and decided to make a family tree. Its more than ten years since I decided to do that family tree, talk about procrastination.hehehe
A couple of weeks ago I was attending a lot of family gathering and I was stunned that there were still a lot of relatives that I still don’t recognize. I realize then that I could still trace my mothers family tree since their family is really close. That’s when I recalled that I made a promise to myself to make that family tree. Later that night after we got home, I immediately browsed the net for a program to help me with these. Luckily I found one and began tracing my roots.
After a few inputs in the program I hit a brick wall. I had a glitch in my plan, I couldn’t remember all the birthdays and complete names of some of my relatives. Another problem was I couldn’t trace a lot of my relatives in my fathers side since the connection stops on my grandfather. My dad, uncle and aunts never exerted any effort on tracing our roots in China.
I know what your thinking, why don’t I look Chinese. Hmmmmm that has got to do with my mother, she is a pure Filipina and her bloodline is quite strong thats why I look more Filipino than Chinese. After evaluating things, I decided to deal this with a different approach. In order for me to trace all my relatives and ancestors I would have to ask help from my immediate relatives. I should gather some information from them regarding our relatives there in China. I heard we have some relatives in Hong Kong. But first things first I should try and compile everything in my vicinity before I venture on looking for my relatives outside. I never thought making a family tree would take a lot of hard work. Anyway If anyone could give any suggestions on helping me with this project I am very much open to any suggestions.

In order to use this tutorial you should have VRay plug-in installed
1. First thing you should do is make a plane about 4m x 4m for your vray fur
2. You then go to create menu>geometry>vray
3. the vray submenu will then appear.
4. click VRayFur and you should see something like this
5. adjust the values of the highlighted portions accordingly
6. Hit render. You should see a result like this.
7. Apply some grass materials to the VRay Fur and plane
8. Hit render. There you have it a grass using VRay Fur.
Just some minor notes:
1. If ever your using a larger plane for your grass add a 1M subdivision to your plane.
2. You cant use uvw maps on Vray fur.

A while ago I was talking to Zenia about my plans with my growing blogging addiction. I told her about the things I would like to write about and the ideas that I am really excited about. I never knew that there were limitations to the things you should do on your blog and the proper methods on doing it.
Since I started blogging I always wanted to write about things that describes who I am and what I do. I never really could come up with just one topic since there are a lot of things going on in my mind.hehehe That’s why I concentrated on writing only about the topics that really catch my interest.
Right now I have 3 blogs which I am regularly updating and one blog that me an Zenia share. Anyway I decided to separate the topics from my other blogs from my personal blog instead of copying them in this blog. Zenia told me that google would penalize me for doing that,I guess I should have done my research on the things I shouln’t do before starting my blog.hehehe Anyway I’ll just link the other posts that I’ll make to my other blogs and hope you would still come by and visit it.;)
