Google Sketchup Tutorials April 1, 2009

Lately I’ve been trying to learn some new 3D application to add to my skills. My major problem in self learning is I lack the patience and time in learning complicated programs.
I’ve tried looking for tutorials on some of the 3D programs available here in the office and realized that a lot of the things this programs provide can be achieved in Max. One program though has caught my attention. Google sketchup is a very easy to use and powerful program, another advantage is it has low minimum requirements.
I’ve posted some links on some tutorials on my other blog “Art and Architecture”, If your interested in learning this program check out those links.
I am wondering if you have any samples of Minimalist projects you have worked on or designed. I am seeking to possibly build a 3 story residential condominium building with each level comprising of 3 large bedrooms, walk-in closets, 3.5 bath, helper room w/bath, kitchen w/pantry, open living/dining room, den, small weight room….200+ sqm of living space.
It is an overlooking house built on top of a 3 car garage (also to be built due to space limitations of 340sqm lot size) that would also be on level ground so no complicated cliff/ridge challenges.. The the front of the house should have lots of balconies and glass for views. Access to each unit would be by stairs as well as a key entry elevator (located in back of building) right into each of the 3 units.
Is this something you have ideas about or could think about otherwise I could guide you.
The building outside must be an ultra modern, utilizing interesting geometric shapes for balconies, roof treatments, etc… so the building stands out for remarkable architectural design as well as making marketability of units easier. The interior space can be traditional American style with walk-in closets, larger bedrooms, larger kitchens and rooms in general than found in Asia style homes.
